Luc
Ménard has been Vice-president, Venture Capital since October
2007. Previously, he held the position of Sector Manager, Telecommunications
and Investment Manager, Telecommunications with Desjardins Venture
Capital.
Before
joining our team in 2001, he worked in large telecom companies
in the wireless, traditional network, and cable distribution sectors.
Over
the past 15 years, Luc has gained extensive expertise in these
sectors, through his active involvement in telecommunication company
startups. His experience provides him with the ability to share
entrepreneurs' vision, and thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit
and a thorough understanding of the stakes and challenges involved
in a constantly changing business sector.
He
sits on a number of Boards of Directors.
Luc
holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Sherbrooke in
Engineering as well as an MBA from Queen's University.

Pierre-Yves
Jetté joined our team in August 2006. Prior to that, he
worked mainly in the telecommunications industry for ten years
where he was involved in strategic planning as well as new
product development and marketing. He also took part in
launching two telecommunication services companies.
Pierre-Yves
holds an MBA from the Institut Européen d'Administration
des Affaires (INSEAD) and is also a member of the Ordre
des comptables en management accrédités du Québec.

Léon
Lajoie has been an Investment Manager at Desjardins
Venture Capital since October 2003.
Before
joining the team, Léon was Manager, Industrial and
Commercial Commissariat at the Société d'aménagement
de l'Outaouais. He worked as General Manager of the
Fonds régional de solidarité Outaouais and later as
Senior Investment Manager at the Caisse de dépôt et
placement du Québec. Léon's has acquired in-depth
knowledge of the SMB environment in a career spanning
13 years in venture capital investing.
He
has sat on the boards of directors of several companies
in both the technology sector and the traditional
economy.
Léon
holds a master's degree in urban and regional planning
from the University of Ottawa.

Roland
Léger joined Desjardins Venture Capital in September
1999 and serves as Investment Manager, Information
Technology.
Roland
has more than 10 years' experience in telecommunications,
mainly in engineering, strategic planning and
new market development. For the last eight years,
he has focused on Québec software companies.
He plays a very active role on the boards of
directors of some of our partner companies.
Roland
is an engineer with a bachelor's degree in electrical
engineering from the University of Sherbrooke.
He also has a degree in administrative sciences
(DSA) from HEC de Montréal.

Jacques
Perreault is Senior Investment Manager, Information
Technology, with Desjardins Venture Capital.
Over
the past twelve years, Jacques has been actively
involved in the financing of Canadian technology
companies. He played a leading role in the development
and growth of the technology subsidiary of the
Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec (formerly
known as Sofinov), one of the largest venture
capital organizations dedicated to the financing
of Canadian technology businesses.
His
broad expertise in technology financing and
his network of local and international contacts
are major assets. In previous positions, Jacques
has worked with such companies as Think Dynamic
(sold to IBM), Pyderion Contact Technologies
(acquired by Intercom Inc., a subsidiary of
EADS), Tecsys (TSX: TCS), Kaydara (acquired
by Alias/Autodesk), Bibliomondo (acquired by
Isacsoft) and Geocom TMS (acquired by Red Prairie).
He has also been a member of the advisory committees
of Boston-based Grandbanks Capital and Commonwealth
Capital Ventures.
Jacques
holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration
(Finance) and an MBA (Honours) in Economics
from Université Laval in Québec City.

Gregory Shaw joined Desjardins in 2006 with over twenty five years of experience as a product developer and manager of R&D and Engineering teams. As our CTO in Residence, he anchors our technical and IP due diligence and coaches our companies in what it takes to bring solid products to market with well protected IP. Greg works with companies to ensure that the business model is highly profitable and cascades through the company such that we understand what products and channels are or will be making money.
Gregory has 19 years of R&D experience gained developing telecommunications services, platforms, embedded systems, Operations Administration & Maintenance systems for fixed, wireless and satellite networks as well as data warehousing and a web portal.
In addition to his R&D experience, Gregory has on an interim basis managed both the engineering and information systems teams of a European wireless carrier, directed the evolution of TDMA, GSM and TETRA networks in Brazil and Europe as well as chairing the ETSI standards committee for High Speed Data for TETRA.
Gregory holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University of Montreal, and is a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec.
