Louis Roquet is President and Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins Venture Capital Inc. He is responsible for managing the operations of the different Desjardins venture capital funds, as well as those of Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins, a publicly traded company founded in 2001 with authorized capital of one billion dollars. He also sits on the Mouvement Desjardins Strategic Management Structure Committee.

In addition to mastering four languages, Mr. Roquet holds a doctorate in business administration from Harvard University and an MBA, finance and international administration option, from Montréal’s École des Hautes Études Commerciales.

Before joining the Desjardins team, Mr. Roquet was president and general manager of Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ). Prior to this, he was successively president and general manager of Investissement Québec, secretary general of the City of Montréal and general manager of the Montréal Urban Community.

Deeply committed to the community, Mr. Roquet chairs the boards of directors of Angus Development Corporation, International Mosaiculture of Montréal and Soverdi. He also has a seat on the boards of directors of Birks & Mayors Inc., Cercle des présidents du Québec, Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec, Fondation Jeunesse du Maire de Montréal and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada. A member of the consultative committee of the McGill/MUHC Life Sciences Technopole, Mr. Roquet is also active in several charitable organizations including Centraide Montréal, where he has a seat on the board of directors and is a member of the Executive Committee.

The Société québécoise des professionnels en relations publiques awarded Mr. Roquet its Grand Prix Équinoxe Hommage 2007 prize for exceptional communication work by a business leader and the MBA Association of Québec awarded him the title of MBA of the Year for 2004.
